This has changed and a number of hotels and tavernas have sprung up but it is still a really nice and quiet place and will hopefully remain so for a few more years. Public buses are limited, at the most 2 or 3 times a day from Elounda 5 km away. With a car it's a straightforward drive along the scenic road from Agios Nikolaos It is a perfect place if you are looking for a quiet tourist resort but too close to Elounda and Agios Nikolaos if you are looking for a holiday away from the touristic mainstream.
