For people that like to see more closeby beaches in Kalives or Almirida area, there are some other options. In the east next to the village of Kalives (1km to east and 1km west of Almirida beach) are the two (small) beaches of Kera, one sandy and one - the one where the church is - more a pebble beach.

Even more to the east are the beaches of Almyrida. On the beaches of Kera there are no facilities (no sunbeds, no parasols, no tavernes). The Kera beach area lies along the east of the Souda Bay opposite the cape of Akrotiri, within 25 kilometers from the city of Hania.
