Pachia Ammos, Ierapetra, east Crete

Pachia Ammos, Ierapetra Pachia Ammos is located 15km to the north of Ierapetra, on the crossing of the road that leads to Heraklio (to the west) and to Sitia (to the east). Includes settlements of Pachia Ammos, Monastiraki, Vasiliki.
The villages of Pahia Ammos together with that of Kavoussi, extends at the northern part of the county of Ierapetra. It covers the area from the western slope of the mountain "Thripti" to the coast at the creek of the gulf of Mirabello.

East of the village of Pahia Ammos stands the imposing gorge of Ha which is refuge of many species of Cretan flora and fauna. In some cases, depending on the weather conditions, the western slope of the mountain is ideal for paragliding and parapente.

The Institute of Research of Prehistoric  Aegean Sea of the Eastern Crete.
Minoan settlements of Gournia and Vasiliki.
The churches of Agios Nikolaos and of Analipsi (Ascension of Christ)
The beach of the settlement, Tholos and bridge Frousi.
Moni Faneromenis (historic monastery) in the area of Gournia to the northwest of Pachia Ammos.
