In the last decades Koutsouras has been greatly developing in both the rural and tourism sector. It is a center of pre-season vegetable cultivation in greenhouses.Over Koutsouras is located the traditional settlement of Tsikalaria with the "pirate path" passing through, a historic remain of the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine years. The mountain sides In the south of Koutsouras are covered by pine forests while In the east there is a recreation ground, the Koutsouras forest. Koutsouras together with the neighbouring settlements of Makri Gialos and Analipsi are forming an urban entity developing to a modern town. Â
