The walk from Lentas Village to Ostria beach will take you about 20 minutes. You can follow a small path (east direction) very close to the sea where you have magnificent views. Ostria has a more rough nature and is the quietiest place nearby Lentas. Here you are surrounded by nothing else but nature. At Ostria it is also allowed to camp on the beach. There are two taverns with rooms and studios, which belong to two nephews, Aris and Babis Petrakis. The father of them was a famous fighter for freedom in Crete since the World War II. The beach starts in front of the first taverna and stretches 400 metres east. Walk along the beach for 100 metres and you will find a group of rocks which provide an excellent screen from the rest of the beach. A good destination near Lentas if you do not like long way to Trahulas or Trafoulas beach.
See the photos and the video from the Naturalist club of Heraklion (www.fysi.gr) from the area of Lendas. We started our walk from Krotos village first by a dirt road and then by path to Trafoulas gorge. From the bottom of the gorge we reached the beach of Trachoulas.
