The coastal village of Plaka is located 9km north of Agios Nikolaos city and 5km from Elounda village, in the stunning setting of the Mirabello bay, right opposite the island of Spinalonga (Kalidon). It used to be a tiny fishing village and only a few years ago was frequented only by a few individualistic travellers.

Gra Lighia is located approximately 6 km west of Ierapetra center. Its residents are called "GraLighiotes". They are occupied mainly in the agriculture sector; this is the main source of income for the residents and their income per capita is one of the highest in the region. The village is surrounded by greenhouses which demonstrates that the agriculture sector is modernised. There are many firms in related fields such as agriculture companies that co-operate with multinationals.

Of course, many of the long haired travellers that slept on ferries with just a deck ticket and with a budget of a few Drachma a day, now work as accountants, lawyers, journalists, doctors, even diplomats. Yearning to return, often with teenagers of their own, to the places that they remember from their youth with the unique tastes and smells of the island still fresh in their memory, even after 25 or 30 years.

This town is situated 15 km west of Agios Nikolaos, in the lash basin of the Mirabello province. During the Venetian occupation it consisted of two settlements which were referred to as a unit dy the name " Kenourio Chorio" (New Village). The settlements retained the name until 1868 when the governor of Lassithi, Kostis Adosides Pasha, transferred there the seat of the country from Kastelli and renamed the two settlements Neapolis (New Town).

Koutsounari is a village some 8 km east of Ierapetra, Lasithi, the easternmost of the four prefectures on the island of Crete, Greece. The village itself is sits a little up the hill, at the foot of cliffs, a short distance back from the shoreline of cristal-clear waters and endless beaches interspersed with secluded rocky coves.
