The gorge of Drimiskos got its name from the homonymous village, located 15km northeast of the beach of Preveli, in south Rethimno Prefecture and 35 km south from Rethymno Town.

Probably the most interesting gorge in Chania Prefecture in flora is the Sfakian Gorge or Lagko (it is famous as the Gorge of Bartholomew) located between Hora Sfakion coastal village and Imbros village to the north.
