Voukolies is a large village on the west of the island of Crete and belongs to the Kissamos province, Chania prefecture, west of Crete. Voukolies is the head village of a municipality with the same name, which extends from Tavronitis, a village at the north coast of Crete, to the roots of the Lefka Ori (White Mountains).

Kato Daratso is just 8 km from Chania town, the interesting capital town of the west of Crete, and 16km from Chania airport. Daratso and its neighbour Galatas are small villages on the hillside above Kalamaki beach which have expanded down to the coast. Kato (lower) Daratso is the part of the village now bordering the sea.

Kato Stalos (Lower Stalos) is after Galatas village situated in Chania Prefecture, and is 8 kilometers from the city of Chania. A very clean, kilometer-long beach (Stalos Beach), awarded yearly with the blue flag, will make you feel like you are dreaming.

Alikianos (Greek: Αλικιανός) is the head village of the Mousouri municipality in Chania Prefecture, Crete located approximately 12.5 kilometers southwest of Chania. Alikianos is best known outside the island for the fierce fighting which took place there during the 1940 Battle of Crete, during which the 8th Greek Regiment (Provisional) helped cover the retreat of the 10th New Zealand Division, to which it was attached.

Drapanias is a seaside village by Kissamos city, west Crete, with some tourist development in recent years, and along the beach road (see Drapanias beach) there are a few cafes and tavernas where you can enjoy a drink or meal by the sea.

Nopigia is a small village on the coast to the west of the rugged Cape Rodopou. The village is typically Greek, a little shabby at first glance, but the perfect place to enjoy the quiet life of Crete.

Sfinari village is situated 20 kilometers far from Kastelli, at the Southwest and 61 kilometers far from Chania and is an ideal place for family and tranquil holidays, far away from the noise and the big crowds as well as next to the lovely sandy/pebble beach. Moreover, the famous Falasarna beach is 15 km far from the village.

The prefecture of Rethymno has its own capital of the exact same title.

Rethymno Town can be found on the islands northern coast between Heraklion Town(80km in the eastern side) and Chania town (60km on the west).

Episkopi is a principal village of the prefecture and county of Rethimno. It is located at the old national road of Rethimno - Hania, 22.5 km away from the city of Rethimno. The village is built at 120 m a.s.l. overlooking the northern coast of Crete, and the green and fertile valley of Mousselas river.
