The gorge of Petres which lies at the eastern side of Episkopi beach, Rethimno prefecture, is easily accessible even by bathers. You find the gorge on the main road, 12 km west of Rethymnon and 63 km west from Heraklion city.

The Kounaviano - Astrakiano Gorge of Karteros is surrounded by a landscape of exceptional beauty. The gorge is located aproximately 15 km south of Heraklion city and is parallel with the Astarakiano gorge, about 1,5km distance (see the map below).

At the location of Kato Vrisses, about 500 meters from the village center of Astritsi village and 21km south of Heraklion city and close to Choudetsi village, lies the small canyon of St. John or Astritsi gorge.

The gorge of Ampelos is located 1km southeast from Gonies village, 14km south of Malia coastal resort in central Crete.

The Gorge of Kavoussi is located south of Ano Viannos Village and northeast from Keratokambos

The name "Faragi Panagia Spiliotisas" comes from the cavernous chapel of Panagia, which stands perched on the slopes of the ravine, a few meters outside the village of Agios Vasilios, 20km south of Heraklion city.

The Rouvas Gorge is situated north of the village Zaros, south-east of the Ida Mountains. Drive past Zaros village to the little lake of Zaros (Votomou lake). On your way to the lake there are a couple of taverns serving trout and salmon fish. The lake is the starting point of the path leading to Rouvas gorge, one of the prettier places in Crete.

The small Kissano gorge in Rethimno prefecture is located 35km south of Rethymnon Town on the central road Rethimno - Spili - Agia Galini and 1km north from Kambos Kissou village.
