Kaminaki is a traditional village located at the southern end of Lassithi Plateau and it is 9km far from Tzermiado, the main village of the plateau and 46 from Heraklion.

This traditinal village is situated in Lassithi Plateau, 42 km western to Agios Nikolaos and 90 km southeastern to Heraklion, near the eastern entrance to the plateau.

The village of Agios Giorgios is situated in Lassithi Plateau between the Kefala hill and the highest peak of the Dikti mountains (2.148 m). As the other villages on the plateau, also Agios Giorgios came into existence as a metochi - a small cluster of interim houses, where the land workers lived during the harvest time - in the period 1583-1630, after the Venetians had permitted Lassithi to be cultivated again.

Sfaka is a medium sized traditional village, 30 kilometers from Sitia City, Eastern Crete and 40 kilometres from Agios Nikolaos, on the main bus route between the two towns and belongs to the Municipality of Sitia. It is located between Tourloti village in the east and Lastros in the west.

Situated 24 km south from Sitia City, in the far east of Crete on the Ziros plateau, high up in the mountains is the   village of Handras - reached by a winding path through olive groves. This is a traditional village, where it could appear that time has stopped still. Houses sit in the sunshine, each courtyard carefully tended, whilst ruins whisper of their past. Villagers call to each other that day’s greeting, carrying pots of food or bags of fruit.

One of the main villages in the region of Sitia with about 250 inhabitants. It is 9 kms from Sitia after turning right at the crossroads in Piskokefalo.

One of the largest and wealthiest villages in the region, 3 kms from Sitia on the road to Ierapetra. The ruins of a Minoan villa were found in the area together with many artefacts such as idols, human and animal figurines, small clay houses etc. These can now be seen in the Archaeological Museum at Heraklion.

Vainia is a village of 595 permanent residents, part of the municipality of Ierapetra, located 4 km north-east of the town on a hill overlooking the town of Ierapetra and the surrounding area.

Between Palekastro and Zakros in east of Crete you can find lots of pretty villages with beautiful churches in a green surrounding. Azokeramos is one of them and it can be reached on the Sitia - Palekastro - Azokeramos - Zakros road. The distance from Sitia is about 30 kilometers.
