Dia is an uninhabited island with 5 km maximum length and 3 km maximum width surrounded by small rocky inlets. It is located 14 kilometres north of Gouves municipality and belongs to the municipal district of Elea. It is one of NATURA's protected areas due to its status as a biotope for endemic plants and for plants with low dispersal within the Southern Aegean.

At first glance, Nisi Paximadia is an island located approximately 12 kilometers (7.5 miles or 6.5 nautical miles) off the south coast of Crete (Agia Galini area) and 14km from Matala area. However, depending on the angle of approach, it becomes clear that Nisi Paximadia actually consists of two, uninhabited, islets. The span of both rocks combined, is approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 mi - 1.6 nm).

Gramvousa is an islet very close to the NW coast of Crete and to the famous Balos Beach, in a strategic position for the control of the channel between Crete and Antikithira (Cerigotto).
The Venetians fortified Gramvousa to have an early alert of possible corsair raids and to provide a temporary haven to convoys in case of attack or storm.

It is a small island ίn the north west of Mochlos that you can visit by boat from Mochlos or Agios Nikolaos. It is uninhabited now and barren.The name has alternative spellίngs and must have come about because the shape of the island seemed to resemble that of a louse ( psira : louse). South-west of the island, tucked into the corner of the bay of Merambello, is another tiny island called Konida - «the nit».

Α group of four (4) small islands at the north of the Sitia Bay, at a distance of 9 miles from Sitia. Two of them, Giannisada and Dragonara, are the biggest ones with mostly cedar-trees from Lebanon and the other two, Paximada and Paximadaki, are just small rocky islands.

Spinalonga

The island of Spinalonga (official name Kalidon) is located in the eastern part of Crete, near the town of Elounda. Harking back to the Venetian occupation, the name Spinalonga is Italian, meaning "long thorn".

Gavdos island Sfakia South Crete

Gavdos or Gávdhos (Greek: Γαύδος) is the southernmost Greek island, located to the south of its much bigger neighbour, Crete, of which it is administratively a part, in the prefecture of Chania. It forms a community with surrounding islets and is part of the former province of Selino. It is the southernmost point of Europe.
