The Trapeza Cave is located near Tzermiado village in Lassithi Plateau, by an altitude of 840 m, and is thought to be one of the oldest cave of worship in the Lassithi Plateau, East Crete. It was first used as a residence place and later, when its east side was inhabited, Kastelo hill, it became a place for burial and worship.

At the place called Halepa, 230m above sea level, 1500m northwest of Skotino village and 6 kilometres from Heraklion city, lies one of the biggest and more interesting caves of the prefecture; that of Agia Paraskevi. Its position is marked by a little white chapel which can be easily reached by car.

The Cave of Apoloustres is located 2.5 km north of the village of Pefki and 10km far from Makrigialos coastal village and it is a gulch of 15-20 metres deep as well. A big gallery 60x15 (WxH) metres and a non visible entrance, made this cave the safest covert of the villages near Pefki.
