The village of Polirinia is situated 7 kilometers south of the town of Kissamos in the west of Crete. You can reach it by driving to and through Kissamos.
If you want an extra walk in the area it is also possible to walk up the gorge of Sirikari (or Tsihliana gorge) from Polyrinia. You have two options:

The gorge Ilinga - Iliga or Kavis is located between Hora Sfakion and Anopolis village. Lush, beautiful and easy. From Anopolis, Sfakia, starts to walk 2 hours to the Byzantine church of the Holy Cross (this piece may be performed in rural or Jeep). From here begins the descent, lasting about three hours, leading to the beautiful beach Iligka, 1km west of Sfakia.

The Patsos Gorge, also known as teh St. Antonios Gorge, is located north of the village Patsos in the Sivritos area, by Rethymno. The gorge is about 5 km long and requires about 2 hours to traverse. At some points it's a bit of a scramble.

This gorge runs between the villages Katochori and Faragi (close to Stylos) and is one of the few gorges on Crete that does not have a north -south direction. It is a very beautiful, green and shady gorge with many plane trees. It takes about 3 hours to cross the 7 km in the gorge and at some point you need a bit of scrambling.

Just east and parallel of the Kato Poros Gorge you find the Moundros Gorge. This gorge is located between the villages Moundros and Velonado, in Rethimno prefecture and about 30 km south west from Rethimno town.
