Voulgaro village, the seat of the homonym community, is located just 9km southeast of Kissamos and includes the settlements of Dermitziana, Latziana, Makronas, Mouri and Chouloudiana. The name of the village comes from the Bulgarian soldiers of Nicephorus Focas who lived there in 961 AD.

Theriso (Greek: Θέρισο) is a town and municipality in the west of the island of Crete, Greece. It is part of the Kydonia province which covers the central part of Chania Prefecture.

The town of Theriso is located to the south of Chania at the top of the Theriso gorge.

The municipal department of Tzitzifes consists of two neighborhoods built on two parallel hills that descend from the mountains to the plain and are separated by a ravine. In the bottom of the ravine is a storied fountain with trees, under which the leaders of the Cretan Revolution met several times in 1866, 1878 and 1895-97.

It is a historical village, situated among the mountains. Its inhabitants are involved in agriculture and animal husbandry. The village is an oasis of tranquility for visitors. Marco Renieris,  a great scholar, the mentor of Eleftherios Venizelos (the greatest politician in Greece) and an informally former finance minister of Greece, was born here.  His house with the coat of arms are kept even today.

Sfakia is a place hidden from the masses by huge mountain ranges of almost 2500 metres high. Anopolis is a small village (consisting of 8 hamlets and totalling about 350 inhabitants) spread on a fertile plateau (Anopolis Plateau) at the foot of the White Mountains.

Anopolis was very significant under the Turkish occupation, with a much larger population, because it had managed to remain free of the invader, preserving Cretan traditions and way of life.

Agia Roumeli - Samaria Gorge in Chania region. Agia Roumeli (Greek: Αγιά Ρουμέλη) is a small village in southwest Crete, Greece and is popular with tourists. Located a few kilometers above the town is the entrance to the Samaria Gorge, a popular tourist destination in Crete, the longest in Greece and one of the longest gorges in Europe measuring 18km. It has a few rooms for rent and some Tavernas.
