Gious Kampos Plateau: On the road connecting Gerakari to Spili in Rethimno prefecture, there is a small plateau called “Gious Kampos”, which means the Plain of Eos, who, according to Greek mythology, was the goddess of Dawn.

Omalos Plateau (of eastern Crete - not to be confused with the one of the same name in western Crete) is 9 kilometers far from Symi or Simi. The lovers of walking in mountain will be able to borrow the paths crossing throats, brooks and pine forests for a walking of 3-4 hours following your rhythm.

Askifou plateau is about 50 kilometres from Chania, at an altitude of 730 metres, and is part of the area known as Sfakia. It is surrounded by the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) and resembles a giant cup, a skyphos in Ancient Greek, whence the name Askifou.

The high and rugged mountains of Crete span its entire length, forming three different ranges. One of these ranges, known as Lefka Ori, is famous for the plateau of Omalos, a circular plain surrounded by green, rounded mountains. For centuries the Omalos plateau was a strategic base for Cretan revolutionaries fighting invading armies.

79 km from Rethymno is the well-known Nida Plateau situated on Mount Psiloritis. Not far from there you will find the Ideon Andron, the cave in which Zeus was housed as a child.

The plateau is 1400 meters from sea level and has a place in Greek mythology.

This plateau is at an altitude of about 600 m. at the west side of Zakros. 30 km away from Sitia, Ziros is the center of the Lefki municipality. Around Ziros there are the villages Hametulo, Lamnoni, Kalo Horio and the coastal settlement of Xerokambos.
