Kastelos village, west Crete is a semi-mountainous village built on the feet of the White Mountains on an altitude of 252 m. It’s named derived from the site it was built (like a castle).

Dramia village is situated on the 45thn km of the old national Road Chania Rethyrnno, on the bank of river Mousela. The name comes from the ancient city of Ydramia or Ydramio which was situated on a neighboring hill.

Trypiti or Tripiti settlement is a Early Minoan settlement in southern Crete. It is located on a hill above the bay or beach of Trypiti east of the coastal village of Lendas and southeast from the small village of Krotos.

The gorge of Agios Vasilios is located north of the village of Agios Vasilios, of the municipality Finikas in Rethymno prefecture.

Drakoulaki Cave is located close to Agios Ioannis village at south Lefka Ori, Sfakia region, west Crete. A small opening at the root of a cliff leads to a whole different world in the bowels of the earth.

The Historical Archive of Crete was founded in 1920 and its headquarters are in Chania city, west Crete. It is a public inter-prefecture service, a decentralized department of the General Archives of the State and it is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education.

Approximately 4 km south of Malia, on the Malia-Krasi district road, is the spot known as Chamoprina (meaning "kermes oaks"). As the road winds uphill the landscape changes from cultivated countryside to woodland.
