Crete Rethymno Adele: The north coast of Rethymno is a long sand strip that stretches for about 20 km. Here, about 5 km from the Rethymno main town is the hospitable beach of Adelianos Kampos. Known as Adele beach, it is a popular destination among family travelers.

The beach at Agia Galini is small when you consider the number of people who expect to use it It's not even very sandy or attractive - once the few patches of soft sand have been claimed you have to rent a chair if you hope to lounge in any comfort.

It is an isolated beach 30 kms west from Heraklion city and 60 kms east from Rethymno and only 1 km shore distance west from Fodele beach. There are actually two beaches separated by a small hill.

It is another isolated area at the north coast of Crete between Heraklion city and Rethymno. The beach is located just 1 km west from Korakias Beach, another secluded beach area.

Skepasti beach area is one of the most isolated and unknown beaches of North Crete between Iraklion and Rethymno. Of course it is unorganized and you reach it through a 2 kms dirt road from Skepasti village, which is located at the highway.

The valley of St. George or Agios Georgios is located 3km west of Agia Galini, 69km southeast of Heraklion and 60km south of Rethymno. There are two small bays with wonderful pebbly beaches, which are separated by a rocky shore. The weather here is always mild, making the beaches ideal for swimming all year round.

Agios Pavlos - Sachturia (The Agios Pavlos Sandhill is the next beach to west): Agios Pavlos, is easily reached by taking the turn off from the main road which links Rethymno (55km far from Rethimno City) with Agia Galini. One heads to the villages of Upper and Lower Saktouria and then is is gentle drive down the hill to the coast and ends at Agios Pavlos. Agios Pavlos, has a hotel, several rent rooms establishments and tavernas.

Polirizos beach is located 46km south of Rethimno, 3km southwest of Rodakino village, near Korakas beach. The area is surrounded by dense olive groves, which reach the shoreline.

Agia Marina beach is located between Rodakino beach and Fragokastelo area in south Rethimno Prefecture and 49km far from Rethymnon city.

There are no facilities available on this 300m long beach (together with the Rodakino beach just next to east) except a newly build Taverna (2007) and the rocky seabed makes it good for snorkeling.

Next to the 2 popular beaches of southern Crete (Plakias and Souda, Rethimno Prefecture), Korakas beach is the ending for one of the tens valleys of southern mountainous volume of Crete.

Rodakino beach is located 48km southwest of Rethymnon city, between Fragokastelo and Plakias village. A 20 min walk from Korakas beach to west over the headland will bring you to Rodakino or Peristeres beach which is 1,5 kilometer long, pristine and practically undiscovered. This beach is situated behind a low hill at the west side of the accommodations (Polirizos beach) and there are no facilities here.

The Beach in Plakias is one long bay in south Rethimno Prefecture. In front of the village, it has a lot of pebbles, and is certainly not at it’s best. However, if you walk east you can follow the road right along the bay.

Ammoudi is a wonderful sandy beach 38 kilometers far from Rethymnon at the South, 6-7 kilometers at the East of Plakias and some 10 minutes walking from the beach of Damnoni, well protected and not affected by the winds.
